The Center of Excellence for Health Systems Improvement (COE for HSI) is excited to announce that we have developed a short, interactive eLearning course on Tobacco Dependence Screening and Treatment in Behavioral Settings.
This course consists of five modules and two additional modules that house tools and resources. It is available for you to navigate and move through at your own pace and offers CASAC credits for those who are eligible.
Behavioral health staff can make a huge difference by helping clients quit smoking – in fact it is one of the most important things they can do to improve their client’s health. Many know their clients need assistance but don’t have all the information they need to provide quality tobacco dependence treatment. Finding the time to be trained and dealing with the costs associated with trainings can be obstacles to getting the information they need to support their clients in making a quit attempt.
This course was developed to build the capacity of behavioral health providers to deliver evidence-based tobacco dependence screening and treatment to their clients, ultimately supporting the integration of this best practice into standard delivery of care.
